1 tbsp olive oil
1 onion diced
1.5 lbs ground beef
1 cup prepared red chile sauce
3 cups all-purpose flour

  • First of all. To make the filling, heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the onion and saute until soft, about 5 minutes.
  • After that, Add in 1.5 lbs ground beef and cook until no longer pink. Add in 1 cup of prepared red chile sauce, stirring well. Simmer for 10 minutes, then remove from heat.
  • And now, To make the empanada dough, combine flour and salt. Use a pastry cutter to cut in 12 tbsp of butter. Add 1 egg and 1/2 cup of water and mix until dough comes together.
